• Air pollution: Air pollution is a major environmental health hazard, particularly for children. Exposure to air pollution can cause a variety of health problems, including respiratory problems, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.
• Water pollution: Water pollution can also be a serious environmental health hazard, particularly for children. Exposure to water pollution can cause a variety of health problems, including gastrointestinal problems, skin infections, and reproductive problems.
• Climate change: Climate change is a major threat to environmental health. Climate change can lead to a variety of health problems, including extreme weather events, heat-related illnesses, and infectious diseases.

• Sources of lead exposure

Lead can be found in a variety of sources, including paint, dust, soil, and water. Children can be exposed to lead through inhalation, ingestion, or skin contact.

• Health effects of lead exposure

Lead exposure can cause a variety of health problems in children, including developmental delays, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems. Lead exposure can also damage the brain, kidneys, and nervous system.

• Preventing lead exposure

There are a number of things that can be done to prevent lead exposure in children. These include:

  • Testing homes for lead
  • Removing lead-based paint

Air pollution

Air pollution is a major environmental health hazard, particularly for children. It is estimated that air pollution causes 1.7 million premature deaths each year, including 600,000 deaths from stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

• Sources of air pollution

Air pollution can come from a variety of sources, including motor vehicles, power plants, industrial facilities, and wildfires. Air pollution can also be caused by natural sources, such as dust storms and volcanic eruptions.

• Health effects of air pollution

Exposure to air pollution can cause a variety of health problems, including respiratory problems, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. Air pollution can also damage the brain, kidneys, and nervous system.
